Ice cream & rain

Its half past noon,
Fall is approaching soon,
Newbies pouring in-
Freebies at the Stamp,

“Ice-creams, for free,
Enjoy them by the tree,”
Money says his tee,
Sunny, aint the weather,

Of to lunch, at noon-
Scurries, the raccoon,
Pitter-patter fallth, the rain,
Teetertotter playth, the Sun.

A bunch of grads walkin by,
Rating, walkth the guy,
Ice-creams in hand,
Screams, in the rain!

चाय टाइम मास्ति

So heres to towny lingo,
I got my roots right, bingo!
Must we forget Madam Penelope,
Who for all you know may just elope-
Nah am serious, pretty serious,
She's on her way to LA, devious,
We just warned her about the ring,
"Make fun make fun" she'll sing,
Our चाय टाइम मास्ति,
She is one महान हस्ती,
Hailing from downtown मुंबई,
Big time comedy with चाय,
'कोसो दूर' she goes,
'Watever' to her woes.
Dont पंगा आदयिफ्य with her,
Cos she'll say, 'go jump', उधर,
'Pretty please with a cherry on top',
A show with her would never flop,
Heres to you my DBA,
I hope I did make your day.

श्रील

“में यहाँ” in a voice so Srill,
Into your ears its bound to drill,
Resonating from a true gemini -
The embodiment of all feminine!
Dancing, her penultimate passion,
She is the queen of big time fashion,
Always caught between decisions,
This star among musicians,
With a huge fan club that follows,
Is a free bird among the swallows!
A travel freak, second to shopping,
From flight to flight, she goes hopping.
This lady in red, as someone said -
Is in all, a masterpiece!

A letter from home

An aerogram, all the way,
From home it came!

A letter from Mom,
Handwritten and warm!

Closer it brings,
The distance, it mitigates!

A feeling, inexplicable,
Yet, meaningful and sweet!

A gesture so simple,
Unconventional and archaic!

A letter from home,
Half way across it’s roamed!

For a long time to come,
A piece of paper to cherish!

Sweet November

September went by,
And so did October, dry,
But there came, November -
Thirty dear days, to remember!

Serendipity in action,
A questionable traction,
A blessing in disguise,
To believe in what lay, was wise!

From machine to man,
As the month ran,
Sweetness unfurled,
As his life twirled!

The beauty in simplicity,
Far away from plasticity,
Dancing to her beat,
Commanding yet neat!

Blindfolded, she left,
With her end, she cleft,
To think it would end,
When things began to bend!

Unfathomable was the truth,
Bitter beauty, a time of ruth!
Why did it come, December?
Why couldn’t it stay, November?

Black hole

Gripping fear, I keep falling,
Somewhere deep, a sense of longing,
Trapped, I strive to break free,
But what is true will always be!
The pull so strong-
Somewhere, I wish, to belong,
Sinking sinking, sinking deep,
Into the galaxy, I wish to leap,
From within, an outcry,
Trapped, in the black hole, dry,
From within, an outcry,
To breakout, in desperation, I try.
Caught, I am, in the black hole,
Sinking sinking, I lose, my whole.

Drifting apart

Leaves from a book,
Sailing throu' the brook,
Throu' June showers,
The kid lowers,
Paper boats;
Clothed in rain coats,
Kids frolic,
Throu' puddles rolick,
Boats that drift,
Throu' the rift,
Away and away,
Come what may,
A long way to go,
To their destinies and so,
As time passes by,
Drifting apart, but why?

Summer in the wilderness

Back from school, the wind so cool,
The trio rambles, by the brambles.
Reminiscence of knavish days, yonder lays,
Buried deep, nostalgia seeps.

Amidst mango trees, in the summer breeze,
A bunch of kids, elvish and prankish,
Scouting around, invisible bounds,
Of times in May; untainted summer holidays.

On the bike trail, as memories sail,
Amidst the wilderness, away from the harness,
We dream of times, of kiddish crimes,
A wish to go back, such freedom we lack!

Early bird...

Barefoot on broken glass

Piercing pain, the urge to cry,
When the wheel goes haywire,
And you dont know where to try,
Teeny actions, consequences so dire.

A loss of inner tranquility,
A questioning self,
Conscience- a display of fragility,
Long lost, somewhere lies the elf.

A test of patience -
Tick tock, time flies by.
A pretense of nonchalance,
As the inner self battles: sigh!

Barefoot on broken glass,
A silhouette that walks,
A lack of brass,
Reverberating, empty talks.

FIRST SNOW!!!

One day I awake in a haste
And look outside my window in a daze
Oh! Tis such a beautiful sight
That instantly fills my heart with delight!

The view pierces my mind like a knife
Invigorates me and fills me with new life
Oh! The moment of first snow is so divine
A moment so magical and so pristine!

The flakes of snow, rapidly they fall
Brushing my skin, only to melt they all
Oh! My heart just leaps out with joy
Such a feeling I wish I could forever enjoy!

Yonder I see, everything is so white
A brilliant transition, all overnight
Oh!My soul how it aches for more
Make it everlasting, Lord I implore!

Zoe

Trot trot she trots her way,
Adorning a smile on her face,
She will reach there some day,
Making her way throu' this maze.

The Capitol Building

A walk through the woods

I look back to see footprints;
I hear a faint cry that wasnt there.
The emptiness- I feel,
As I stroll through the woods.

A long way to Timbuktu,
I wade through the stream,
Gurgling and meandering,
It flows along, shimmering.

A tiny soul, amidst tall cedars,
Under the foliage, wandering
Wee light through the leaves;
Sway gently with the breeze.

A scent of freshness,
Reminiscence of youth.
The past still lingering,
I walk through the woods.

Home they brought my warrior alive...

I watched him board the ship to Greece,
I stood there rooted in that moment of grief,
A war to wage he had- to bring peace!
I didnt want to let go of that moment so brief.

Days passed by, and so did weeks,
A letter or two to console the few,
To touch one half the other seeks,
Souls apart that long to sew.

Years went by, the war went on,
I yearned to see my knight,
A shining armor, he would adorn,
I ached to see him every night.

The letters stopped with the atom bomb,
In the depression, I struggled to thrive,
He perished they said with the bomb,
Long after, home they brought him alive!

A damaged brain, the body alive,
But home they brought my warrior alive!

A song from the gallows

Just when I thought I was nearing death,
There came the stay order.
I didn't know whether to cry or laugh
And ended up doing both.
A minute ago I was happy to be rid of life
And now I'm happy otherwise
I asked Him to relieve me of this pain
But whatever I did He wouldn't let go.
I knew I did something wrong
But what if the wrong was something right
And just when I was ready to accept fate
He wouldn't let go.
He wants to punish me or someone else,
I really don't know
Dominique, Dominique He would call
And I would promptly follow the whisper
I couldn't help it,He is to powerful and attractive
I couldn't infer right from wrong
And all I did was blindly follow Him,
'Coz I had this strong belief in Him
He knew what to do better I thought.

Rainy days (v0.2)

Rumble rumble, roaring thunder,
Flashing bright a streak of lightning,
Darkness he lay under,
A lonely feeling - indeed frightening.

Cold and shivering,
He stands in the storm,
A chill runs through - quivering
He stands there in the storm.

Dark clouds in the sky,
Muddy puddles on the roads,
Pale white his face with pry,
All around are croaking toads.

Pitter patter cometh the rain,
Here and there a hail stone,
Down it flows into the drain,
There he stands, chilled to the bone.

Rainy day

Rumble rumble I hear thunder,
Here and there a streak of lightning.
Dark sky, I stand under,
Alone and cold - the air so frightening.

Chilly winds that scorn my skin,
Amidst them all, I stand helpless,
Shuddering, I feel, my rattling chin,
Every second that goes by, hapless.

A scar on my chest,
Suddenly it starts bleeding,
Am caught in this tempest,
I stand there, my lonliness dreading.

Fear mounting, it seems so cancerous,
Rain drops or pelting stones,
Souls that drift frivolous,
And there I lay, caught in this jones.
